How long does a brand identity take? A day-by-day timeline

By Bilal Haider, Founder, Theepa Studio · · 3 min read

Short answer

A focused brand identity can be done in 7–10 days when scope and decision-makers are clear. Adding a website takes it to 10–14 days. Projects take months when they start without a brief, involve too many approvers, or mix strategy debates into design rounds.

What's included in each is listed on the pricing page.

Day by day

  1. 1Day 1, brief: a 30-minute call and a short questionnaire. Scope, date and decision-makers are agreed in writing.
  2. 2Days 2–3, first concepts: distinct directions, presented live. This is the checkpoint where our full-refund promise applies.
  3. 3Days 4–8, refine: one direction becomes a full system: logo versions, colour, type, applications. Feedback every 48 hours.
  4. 4Days 8–10, guidelines and templates: rules written down, templates built, files prepared.
  5. 5Handoff: source files, guidelines and a walkthrough. You own everything.

What slows a brand project down

  • No single decision-maker. Every extra approver adds days to each round.
  • Strategy debates during design rounds. Settle positioning in the brief, not on day six.
  • Open-ended revisions. Fixed rounds with clear feedback move faster than unlimited ones.
  • Waiting on content. For websites, missing copy and images are the most common delay.

How to make it faster

Come to the brief with three things: who you're for, who you're up against, and two or three brands you admire (and why). Name one person who makes the final call. That's usually enough for a fast project.

Questions people also ask

Can a logo be designed in a day?

A logo can be drawn quickly, but a good one is tested across sizes and applications. A full identity with guidelines takes about 7–10 days.

Why do some agencies take three months?

Larger research phases, many stakeholders and multiple brands. For a startup with one decision-maker, that length is rarely necessary.

When do I see the first designs?

At Theepa Studio, first concepts are presented early in the project, before most of the work is done.
