Plan your redirects before you switch platforms.

Short answer

Paste your sitemap.xml or a list of URLs, pick your old platform (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow, Framer) and your new one, and the planner sorts every URL into Keep, 301 or Check by hand, then exports a redirect map as CSV, _redirects, vercel.json or Next.js config.

A free alternative to crawling your site with paid SEO software just to build a redirect list. Screaming Frog's free version, for example, stops at 500 URLs; this planner works from your sitemap with no hard limit.

This report was made with Website migration planner, a free tool by Theepa Studio. Results come from the inputs on the page when it was saved.

How it works.

The method behind the numbers, so you can judge the result.

  • URLs are read from <loc> tags in a pasted sitemap, or from any list of full URLs or paths.
  • Platform rules handle common patterns: WordPress date and category URLs, Wix /post/, Shopify /pages/ and /blogs/, Webflow and Framer collection paths, file extensions and trailing slashes.
  • Keep: the path stays the same. 301: the path changes and a permanent redirect is suggested. Check: needs a human decision (archives, store pages, files, database IDs).
  • Review the Check rows before launch, then test every redirect on staging.

Website migration planner: questions

Do I need 301 redirects when I change platforms?

Yes, for every URL that changes. A 301 tells search engines and browsers the page has moved permanently, so visitors and rankings follow.

Where do I get my list of URLs?

Open yoursite.com/sitemap.xml, select all and paste it in. Add any important URLs that aren't in the sitemap, such as old campaign pages.

Can I redirect everything to the homepage?

You shouldn't. Redirect each old page to its closest new equivalent; mass redirects to the homepage tend to be treated like missing pages.
