How it works.

The method behind the numbers, so you can judge the result.

  • Each check is critical (×3), important (×2) or polish (×1).
  • Weights shift by stage: for example unit economics matter more at Series A than at pre-seed.
  • Investor-ready means a score of 85 or more and no critical check left unticked.
  • Top fixes are the unticked checks with the highest weight for your stage.

Pitch deck checklist: questions

How many slides should a pitch deck have?

Most early-stage decks work best at about 10–15 main slides, with detail moved to an appendix.

What do investors look at first?

Usually the one-line description, traction and the team. Make those three slides impossible to misread.

Does the checklist change by stage?

Yes. Choose pre-seed, seed or Series A and the weights adjust. Traction and unit economics carry more weight later.
