Does your logo work at every size?
Short answer
Upload your logo and see it as a 16px browser tab icon, an app icon, a round profile picture, a website header, an email signature and a billboard, on light, dark or brand-colour backgrounds. The tester also checks transparency, proportions, resolution and contrast, and offers a blur and black-and-white stress test.
A free alternative to mocking your logo up by hand in a design tool. Most logos look fine large and fail at 16px; this shows you in seconds.

What we found
Also look at the 16px tab icon above: if you can't tell what it is, you need a simplified mark for small sizes. We design logo systems that work at every size.

How it works.
The method behind the numbers, so you can judge the result.
- Previews use your actual file at real sizes: 16 and 32px tab icons, a rounded app icon, a circular avatar, a 28px header logo, a 40px email signature and a full-width billboard.
- Transparency: more than 5% of pixels see-through counts as a transparent background.
- Proportions: wider than 2.5:1 or taller than 1:2.5 needs a compact mark for square spaces.
- Resolution: SVG passes; raster files need at least 1000px on the long side.
- Contrast: the average colour of the logo's visible pixels is compared with white and near-black using the WCAG contrast formula; 3:1 is the minimum for graphics.
- Squint test blurs the previews; black and white checks the logo still works without colour.

Logo tester: questions
What size should a logo be for a favicon?
Browsers show favicons at 16 and 32 pixels. Most full logos are unreadable that small, so brands use a simplified mark or monogram.
Should my logo have a transparent background?
Yes, for most uses. A transparent PNG or SVG sits cleanly on photos, coloured sections and dark mode.
What file format is best for a logo?
SVG for websites and anything that scales, PNG with transparency where SVG isn't accepted, and PDF or EPS for print suppliers.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by your browser and never sent to us.
